After giving a successful product Redmi Note 4 to the Indian Smartphone Market, Xiaomi seems to be planning to launch its successor Redmi Note 5 soon. New leaks and renders started surfacing on the Internet revealing some images and pictures of the handsets revealing its details.
Some Chinese sources reported that a Mi branded handset was spotted at TENNA certification. Further, the images from TENNA suggested that the handset alleged to be Redmi Note 5 will be featuring dual camera setup at its back. Besides the camera, we can judge from the leaked images that the handset built will be of metal and looks somewhat similar to Moto M smartphone; in terms of the unibody design. The device will carry a fingerprint sensor at its back.
As far other technical specifications are concerned, the 91mobiles reported that the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 will be fronted with a 5.5-inch FHD display with 401 ppi of pixel density and a 5-megapixel of selfie shooter above it. The dual camera setup (mentioned earlier) is expected to be of two 16-megapixel lenses, one of which is obviously a wide angle lens, while the other one will be used to capture shots under portrait mode.
Considering the TENNA listing, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 will be powered by a MediaTek Helio P25 octa-core processor, however, due to Indian petitions filed earlier it will boast a Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 chipset. Running on Android Nougat-based MIUI 9 OS, the smartphone will be fueled by a 4000 mAh battery.
Considering the prices and specifications of Redmi Note 4, it could be speculated that the Redmi Note 5 will be launched in three of its variants which include 3GB RAM coupled with 32GB of storage, 4GB RAM paired with 32GB of storage, and 4GB of RAM bundled with 64GB of storage. It is expected that these variants will be priced at 1,200 Yuan (around 11800 INR), 1,400 Yuan (around 13800 INR), and 1,500 Yuan (around 14800 INR) respectively.
It may be mentioned that the Redmi Note 4 features a 5.5-inch IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen screen with 1,080×1,920 pixels (401 ppi pixel density), a Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 chipset, an Android Marshmallow operating system (upgradable to Android 7.0 Nougat). It also features a 4,100mAh battery, a 13MP main camera with BSI CMOS sensor, f/2.0 aperture, PDAF (Phase Detection Auto Focus), dual-tone LED flash and 1.12µm pixel size, and a 5MP front-snapper with f/2.0 aperture and 85-degree wide angle view of the field.
The handset comes in three models — 2GB RAM + 32GB storage priced at at Rs 9,999, 3GB RAM + 32GB storage at Rs 10,999, and 4GB RAM+64GB storage at Rs 12,999 (memory expandable up to128GB via microSD card).
