Xiaomi folded up its plan for launching its latest smartphones, Mi Note 2 and Mi MIX in India. The users, who are dreaming of getting the latest model of Xiaomi, the all-new and ultra-modern Note 2 and Mi MIX on their hand, will have to face frustration as Xiaomi is not going to launch any of these two models in India in the near future.
The Note 2 and Mi MIX are among the most-awaited smartphones of this year and Indian users were eagerly waiting to grab one of them. But now, both phones are proved daydream for Indian users as the Chinese Multinational slaughtered the launch proposal of both phones in India. Xiaomi, while giving its statement to Gadgets 360, said that it has no plan to launch Mi Note 2 and Mi MIX smartphones in India in near future.
This news will surely discourage a number of Indian buyers who are looking forward for a high-end and mid-range smartphone as a substitute to the recently departed Samsung Galaxy Note 7.
During a press meet, Hugo Barra, Vice President global operations, Xiaomi told to Gizmodo India that, “Mi Note 2 and Mi Mix are not approaching to India, neither the company has any plan to bring these two gadgets to this market. Taking the statement forward, Mr. Hugo also said that, currently, Xiaomi isn’t capable of introducing two new flagship smartphones for Indian market and so the release may happen by the end of the next year. However, he clarified that, it is not confirmed that if Xiaomi will launch both models next year or not.
In terms of specifications, both Mi Note 2 and Mi MIX are enriched with sophisticated design and powerful line-up of specs. Mi Note 2 is powered by the 2.35GHz quad-core Snapdragon 821 Performance Edition SoC and run on Android 6.0 Marshmallow. Xiaomi Mi Note 2 sports a 5.7-inch full-HD Oled dual-curved screen mated on 1080×1920 pixels display resolution and is backed by a powerful 4,070mAh battery and Quick Charge 3.0 fast-changing technology. An advanced fingerprint sensor is integrated on the home button of the phone, while the memory section is packed with two variants like 64GB storage + 4GB RAM, and 128GB storage + 6GB RAM.
Rolling over to other pivotal components, Xiaomi Mi Note 2 sports a 22.5-megapixel rear camera coupled with a Sony IMX318 Exmor RS sensor, and an 8-megapixel Sony IMX268 Exmor RS shooter at the front part. Among connectivity options, the phone features 4G-LTE (downlink speeds up to 6000Mbps), Bluetooth 4.2 and USB Type-C, Wi-Fi, NFC, and Aqstic audio processor.
On the other hand, Mi MIX sports a 6.4-inch bezel-less display and is powered by a 2.35GHz quad-core Snapdragon 821 SoC. The RAM part of the phone is packed with two options like 4GB/ 6GB RAM, while the power section is backed by a 4400mAh battery coupled with the Quick Charge 3.0 technology. A – high-definition 16-megapixel rear camera with PDAF is spotted on the rear part, while the front part is enhanced with a 5-megapixel snapper. The connectivity part includes 4G LTE connectivity, GPS/ A-GPS, NFC with Mi Pay support, Bluetooth v4.2, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, and a USB Type-C port.
