The Chinese smartphone making company, Xiaomi has scheduled an event on Spetember 27 in its home country. It is expected that the company will be launching a smartphone at the event. The handset, to be revealed during the event, could be the previously leaked Xiaomi Mi Note 2 Pro, or it may be Mi 5s.
The company has released a teaser on Monday with a big ‘S’ which hints that it could also be the upcoming handset Mi 5s. Hence, the probability of Xiaomi Mi 5s to be launched is high. Also, there is an another teaser which shows a figure, 164,119, which might be the impressive AnTuTu’s benchmark score. Just before releasing the teaser, leaked AnTuTu benchmark score of 164,002 for the Xiaomi Mi 5s was spotted online.
Interestingly, Xiaomi has released its teaser which reveals the benchmark score, soon after LeEco launched its Le 3 Pro smartphone with its score, 163,544. It seems that the company is trying to compete the handset with Le 3 Pro and to put it a step ahead it had made the move. So, it could be expected that the Mi 5s could be launched with a price around CNY 1799(~Rs. 18,100), which is the launching price of Le 3 Pro.
Besides, speculations surfacing on the Internet suggest that Xiaomi Mi 5s to feature a 5.5-inch full-HD (1080×1920 pixels) along with 64-bit Snapdragon 821 quad-core processor, Adreno 530 GPU, 6GB of RAM, 256GB internal storage, and Android 6.0 Marshmallow with MIUI 8 on top.
Apart from this, a recent leak also suggested that the Mi 5s would be launched in a smaller screen variant as well. An alleged image of the Xiaomi Mi 5s variant with 4-inch display has been spotted on Weibo.
However, the specifications related to the 4-inch variant are very speculative at the moment. The smartphone might feature 4.3-inch 720p display with a Snapdragon 820 processor, 3GB of RAM, and 32GB inbuilt storage.
