The controversy of Sushma Swaraj helping Lalit Modi to get travel documents has taken a new twist with the name of Rajasthan Chief Minister being surfaced in the debate. According to the document’s released by former IPL chief, Vasundhra Raje not only helped Modi for his application for immigration to UK in 2011 but also accompanied his wife to Lisbon for treatment.

This transpired a year after Lalit Modi had left country when allegations of financial wrongdoing were planted on him. He had refused to come back even after the summons of Enforcement Directorate and cited life threats for the same.

The authenticity of the document hasn’t been verified yet and Raje though accepted that she knows Lalit’s family said that she has no idea of what the document is talking about.

It is strange to speculate that why Modi has put out such documents if Raje was indeed helping him. When Raje was absent for long times from the state she was targeted by Congress by saying that she has gone to meet her well-wishers in London but the allegations remained so only in the absence of any proof. However at the same time Raje’s son was also pulled into the controversy for his financial dealings with Modi. A Jaipur-based lawyer Poonam Bhandari had claimed that Modi had laundered black money for Raje’s son, a two-term MP from Dholpur

A petition was filed by Bhandari in the Delhi High Court but HC refused to intervene stating that an additional solicitor general was appearing on the behalf of Union Government and the probe had already imitated.

The first sign of Raje-Modi relation turning sour came when during 2013 election campaign Modi had tweeted several posts saying that Jaitely was conspiring against Raje. However, later Modi became stark critic of Raje and said that she should be replaced by Om Mathur who is PM’s trusted

Now if Raje is destroyed, she will be destroyed by the man she created.
