Sony to defocus on India, planning to sell only ‘premium’ smartphones

Sony, the leading tech company, is reported to schedule a massive change in its Indian Marketing policy. As said, Sony is shifting its core focus from India along with some other regions and planning to sell only premium Smartphones the marketplace of these countries. As officially declared by Sony, the company will only bring premium Experia Smartphones to India instead of other devices. This change is designed to sharp the sale and profit channel of the company, as reported by the official source.

According to the new marketing strategy of Sony, the company has decided only to sell ‘premium’ Smartphones in India along with few other regions. This festive season, Sony is introducing some high-end Smartphones in the Indian marketplace. As suggested in previous few reports, this planning of Sony is indicating its defocus on Indian Market.

As declared by the head of Xperia business, Sony India, Mr.Vijay Singh Jaswal, Sony has brought up some major transformation in FY15 for driving a sustainable growth in company policy and sale margin globally including India. As the part of this change, Sony is planning to make its sales channel and giving core emphasis on selected items. As per this marketing changeover; Sony is revolving its purchase channel in India and planning to launch only premium Experia Smartphones.

Moreover, he also reported that the sale margin of Sony had boosted its profit rate by 55% in Q1 of FY 16 in comparison to its previous sale rate and so the company now will only revolve on launching premium handsets in India. The key reason behind shifting the marketing strategies of the company is to bring up a more enhanced platform for its customers for experiencing premium and high-end Smartphones along with generating more enrichment in the presence of the company in the Indian market.

“The Xperia Z line has reached its culmination – Xperia X series represents a new chapter and evolution of our product strategy. Whilst the Xperia Z series was all about bringing the best of Sony’s advanced technologies to smartphones, Xperia X series is based on bringing smart, adaptive Sony user experiences across camera, battery performance and hardware/software design,” said Sony in an official blog post.
