Samsung to launch Bixby, AI based voice assistant with its upcoming Galaxy S8

To make a phone that can compete with Google’s Pixel, Samsung is gearing up its upcoming flagship smartphone Galaxy S8 with Artificial Intelligence. A report suggested that AI will be the highlighting feature of the smartphone and the company’s own voice-powered assistant will make itself right at home inside the device’s native applications.

According to a post published on SamMobile, Samsung will launch Bixby, company’s own AI-based voice assistant that will come pre-installed on the Galaxy S8. The report also confirms that the Bixby will be far more robust than its earlier S Voice. Hence, it could be concluded that Samsung is planning to replace its aged S Voice will a new AI voice assistant, Bixby.

SamMobile also provided an example of Bixby’s possible powers – When a user is in the Gallery app and wants to browse photos and videos with certain characteristics, one can ask the assistant to show images matching the requirements.

The Samsung’s AI voice assistant will also reportedly feature contextual awareness, handy when it’s answering questions or suggesting actions without the user needing to say precisely.

Besides, a recently sourced leak has confirmed Samsung Galaxy S8 to bear an all-screen design. If the reports are believed to be true, the bezel-less display will revitalise the same boring patterns of Samsung Galaxy flagship. However, surprisingly, the South Korean Giant is also said to ditch the iconic Home Button and Headphone Jack with the new model.

Apart from this confirmed report, Samsung S8 is leaked to feature a 5.5-inch 4K display empowered by a 2160×3840 pixels Super AMOLED. The leaked teaser on Weibo also says that Galaxy S8 will be powered by the Samsung’s home-grown Exynos 8895 SoC processor. On the memory front, S6 is expected to sports a massive 6GB of RAM while the internal storage segment is rumoured to be variable.

As claimed by the analysts of Weibo, Galaxy S8 will be packed with a dual-camera configuration, enriched with 16-megapixel and 8-megapixel snappers in the rear. Along with a new design and layout is expected to arrive with the Samsung Galaxy S8 and as said by Weibo, Samsung this time will get rid of the trademark home button and instead will bring up a new bezel-less design. Apart from these features, an advanced and first-ever optic fingerprint sensing display is rumoured to come with Galaxy S8.
