Soon after announcing the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 smartphone in the market, speculations started surfacing the Internet suggesting that the company is planning to launch higher storage variant of the handset in coming months in China. The speculation has been confirmed by the President of Samsung Mobile Communications, Dongjin Koh, in an interview with The Korea Times.
“We will continue to accept different needs from each marketplace, and respond by releasing localized products by changing memory capacity or color, ” The Korea Times quoted Dongjin Koh as saying.
Previously, rumours suggested that the Galaxy Note 7 will also be launched with higher storage and RAM capacity exclusively in China. It was expected that the firm will launch the smartphone with 128GB storage and 6GB RAM in the country. Speaking at the same, The Korea Times said in its report that Samsung is planing to to introduce a new variant with higher storage to tackle Chinese handset makers’ push to introduce new device with higher storage option.
Besides this, Samsung has also confirmed that within next two to three months, the Android 7.0 Nougat update will be rolled out for the handset and it is also expected that the Chinese variant with higher internal storage will be running on Nougat, out-of-the-box.
