Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has decided to provide all the required support for officials of retail major like Wal-Mart, PepsiCo, Wipro and Hero Moto-Corp.
PepsiCo’s Indra Nooyi scheduled a meeting with the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh N. Chandrababu Naidu who was then informed that PepsiCo is interested in acquiring agricultural products from the state in larger quantities. For encouraging coconut farmers in Konaseema towards progress, the company has also devised plans to generate interest in packaging and branding of tender coconut water.
PepsiCo has shown keen interest for setting up units for mango pulps in Andhra Pradesh, and also has planned to accumulate mangoes in large quantities, AP chief minister’s office revealed.
Nooyi added that the company is also interested in buying jowar, papaya, banana and other agriculture and horticulture manufactures. She has decided to buy the whole of the production of mango pulp that is cultivated in Andhra Pradesh which is around and about 70 million tons.
Furthermore, Wal-Mart has agreed on précising the Andhra Pradesh government in technological aspects, CSR and retail businesses. Wal-Mart has been working on opening retail stores in Andhra Pradesh while trying to merchandise ‘Made in Andhra’ products.
Even Wipro’s chief strategy officer Rishad Premji said they are planning to create Vizag as digital city on a pilot basis. During the meeting between Azim Premji and N. Chandrababu Naidu it has been decided that working there must be soon be e-governance initiatives and decisions to set up a soap factory in Hindupur, Anantapur have been initiated.
Naidu also had a meeting with the Hero group’s chairman Sunil Kant Munjal and they discussed building the company’s largest manufacturing facility near Sri City which will be done int the promised time limit.
Andhra Pradesh is soaring high in business. Let’s hope it flourishes well and Andhra Pradesh gets what it has been promised.
