Reliance unveils Lyf Earth 2 and Lyf Flame 5 smartphones in India

Reliance Retail’s Lyf brand has unveiled two new smartphones in India, one is Lyf Earth 2 and another one is Lyf Flame 5. Lyf Earth 2 is the most expensive smartphone from the Lyf brand unveiled till date, available at Rs. 21,599, launched in four colour options – Green, Black, Gold, and White. While Lyf Flame 5 can be purchased through the official stores like Reliance Digital. It is available for sale at Rs. 3,999.

Commenting on the launch, Sunil Dutt, President – Devices, Reliance Retail said that LYF Smartphone+ is a customer concerned brand and through Earth 2, they want to deliver the most advanced features in smartphones that provide a unique digital experience to their users and hand over the full control of the smart devices to the consumers.

Both the smartphones Lyf Earth 2 and Lyf Flame 5 support dual-SIM, one with Nano SIM + Micro SIM combination and another one is regular SIM and Micro SIM combination respectively. Though, both slots are 4G supported but users can use one card slot for 4G service at a single time. Both the smartphones run on Android 5.1 Lollipop OS.

Coming to the Lyf Earth 2, the company claimed that this smartphone has three security options – pattern and pin based lock, retina unlock, and a fingerprint reader. Users can also allow encrypting the videos and photos saved in the gallery as well as encrypt different social media apps too. Apart from Smart+Security feature, the company is boasting the Smart+Sense features which include gesture and touch-based shortcuts added in the device.

Lyf Earth 2 comes with a 5-inch full HD IPS display and features 1.5GHz octa-core Snapdragon 615 (MSM8939) SoC paired with 3GB RAM and 32GB internal storage which can be expandable up to 64GB via microSD card. The phone sports 13MP back camera with flash and laser autofocus and 13MP selfie camera too. It is backed by a 2,500mAh battery which is claimed to give 14 hours of talk time on 4G and up to 480 hours of standby time.

The smartphone features 4G LTE, VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0 , and Micro-USB as connectivity options. Measuring 142x67x7.2mm, it weighs 140grams. Onboard sensors bundled with the Lyf Earth 2 include a proximity sensor, accelerometer, sensor, gyroscope, ambient light sensor, and digital compass.

Reliance Lyf Flame 5 launched in India

Moving to the specs of the Lyf Flame 5, the smartphone sports 4-inch display with a pixel density of 433ppi and Asahi Dragontail Glass protection on the screen. It packs a 1.5GHz quad-core processor paired with a Mali 400 MP2 GPU and 512MB RAM. The handset bears 4GB internal storage that can be expandable up to 32GB through a microSD card.

On the photography front, the phone features a 5MP back camera with HDR, face detection, Panorama, burst mode, slow motion video, and smile shutter support and 2MP selfie camera.

Connectivity options include 4G, FM radio, Wi-Fi, 3.5mm audio jack, GPS, Bluetooth 4.0, and Micro-USB. The main highlight feature of this headset is it houses VoLTE (voice over LTE) and HD voice call compatibility. It includes both 4G LTE bands in India – TDD-LTE Band 40 (2300MHz) and FDD-LTE Band 3 (1800MHz).

Lyf Flame 5 is backed by a 1,650 mAh battery that is rated to offer up to 4.5 hours of talk time and 150 hours of standby time. Measuring 124.5x64x10.9mm, it weighs 117grams.
