As the newest debutant to the Indian telecom sector, Reliance Jio is ready to monetize its services starting from 1st April 2017, while competing with the telco, other companies have started rolling out their unlimited calling and data plans in the market. Reliance Communication has rolled out 1GB 4G data plan for Rs 49 for the new customers.

Additionally, we still see immense potential in the 3G and 2G markets, which boast of 750 million Smartphones and data-ready feature phones. We have, therefore, customised special offerings in this space as well, with segmented and value-creating propositions,” said Gurdeep Singh, Co-CEO at Reliance Communications, and CEO at RCOM’s Consumer Business.

In the last couple of months, Jio has successfully created a solid customer base because of its quality of service and the affordable plans for data and calling. At the Reliance AGM last year, Mukesh Ambani, head Honcho of the Reliance group, announced that the calling and the roaming facility on the Jio network which used a VoLTE would remain free for all users, and the only thing they have to pay for is the data usage over the network. This approach has pretty much changed the entire face of Indian Telecom sector as it forced other players like RComm, Airtel, Vodafone, Idea to spruce up their game to stay in the competition.
