Register your name to be send on NASA's Journey to Mars

American Space agency National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) is sending names of Mars enthusiasts in space for the second time. As written on NASA’s official website, InSight Mars Lander will be launched next year with all the registered names.

People all over the globe who want their name to fly on the journey to mars can submit their names on NASA’s official website. All the names will be encoded in a silicon microchip which will be aboard NASA’s Insight Mars Lander scheduled to be launched next year.

All the aspirants can register their name by September 8, 2015 (Midnight ET). By registering name, you will enter in the ‘frequent flyer club’ and will earn some frequent flyer points which reflect individuals active participation in NASA’s journey to Mars spanning across multiple missions over several decades.

Nearly 1,80,000 people have registered their names for the journey to Mars until now. According to the website, more than 8,000 people from India have registered for the mission. Previously, nearly 1.38 million names encoded on a chip aboard the first flight of NASA’s Orion spacecraft in December 2015.

InSight that will carry all the names will take off from Earth in March 2016 from Vandenberg Air Force Base, California and it will reach the red planet in September 2016. As per details given by NASA, InSight will examine red planet’s interior surface as it would help in developing a better understanding towards how rocky planets of our solar system formed.
