You are more prone to heart disease if your family members are heart patients

If your family members are suffering from the heart diseases, then you should worry about your heart health. The research reveals that kids have one parent who is heart patient are more prone to go through heart attack by 48 percent. Also, the children who have two parents with the heart disease background either they are heart patients or someone other in their family, are at the heart disease risk by six times.

Despite being a doctor does not mean that you are safe from the heart disease, in fact, it increases the chances even more because of the increased stress level in the profession. Meanwhile, Dr John Warner who is the president of American Heart Association went through a minor heart attack in the scientific conference. Warner’s father and grandfather also went through a heart bypass surgery. His maternal great-grandfather and grandfather also died because of the heart illness.

Talking about the heart attack, it is a very painful process in which a plaque breaks in the heart artery. It causes the formation of a blood clot which blocks the blood flow to the heart muscles. After that heart muscle needs the oxygen and this situation is known as ischemia which leads to possible damage to heart muscle, this whole process is called the heart attack.

Therefore, if you want to live longer without the risk of heart attacks, you need to live a healthy lifestyle. You need to keep lung and kidney functions over 80 percent. Also, maintain diastolic lower blood pressure (mm Hg), resting heart rate, fasting blood sugar (FBS) (mg%), bad cholesterol (mg/dL), bad low-density lipoprotein (LDL) and abdominal girth (cm) below 80.

Addressing the same issue, Dr K K Aggarwal also shared some information on the fatal heart disorder. Meantime, he is the president Heart Care Foundation of India (HCFI), immediate Past National President Indian Medical Association (IMA) and awarded by Padma Shri honour. He stated regarding the issue that there are some of the alarming signs of heart attack such as upper body pain, chest discomfort, and trouble breathing.

The people who go through the disorder feel a strange feeling of fullness, pain, pressure or squeezing in the middle of the chest which spreads. This sensation can last up to few minutes and can also come again. Pain in arms, neck, stomach, the back, or jaw can also be felt by the patient. Women are more likely to feel such symptoms.

Also, people who have a family background of heart attack should take prevention at an early stage and should also consult to doctor if they are facing any of the symptoms. For that one needs to add healthy eating habits which consists of omega-3 fatty acids, fruits, vegetables, and whole grains. Along with healthy diet a daily physical activity, yoga or exercise is also beneficial for the health.
