Pakistan finishes victory drought in Bangladesh tour, wins 2nd test by 328 runs,

Pakistan finally finished the Bangladesh Tour by winning the second and last test match by a huge margin of 328 runs on Saturday and claimed the series by 1-0. The test was their last chance to end the victory drought after being defeated in the ODI Internationals, losing the Twenty20 and succeeding to draw in the first test match played in Khulna.

Leg-Spinner Yasir Shah bowled exceptionally well on the fourth day and took four wickets which helped Pakistan to get victory just after the lunch break and stopped Bangladesh’s batting line-up for 221. Mominul Haque was the highest run-scorer for the Bangladesh side with 68 runs and tried to save his team from defeat. Tamim Iqbal also made 42 runs and supported Haque. Haque became the fourth batsmen to make a half-century in his 11 consecutive tests.

Pakistan fast bowler Imran Khan took two wickets in the morning season and ran through the hosts top order. Mohammad Hafeez, Wahab Riaz and Junaid Khan also took one wickets each to take Pakistan close to the victory.

Most of the Bangladesh batsmen threw their wicket with silly and impatient strokes. Tamim Iqbal, who scored a 206 run which was his career best runs, was the first one to move to the pavilion on Imran’s bowling. After that, Bangladesh batsmen became impatient and till lunch they lost almost half of their team. Pakistan just needed only one hour to bowl out Bangladesh players after the lunch.

Bangladesh lower order batsmen Shuvagata Hom delayed the defeat for a while but failed to save his wicket. Banglasdesh was bowled out for 203 in its first innings and came in the second innings to chase unlikely target of 550 runs.

“It was a much-needed win for us and I think the team really showed some character,” Pakistan captain Misbah-ul-Haq said at the presentation ceremony.  He also said that Azhar Ali and Younus Khan played brilliantly and made partnership of 250 runs in the first innings which created the base for their team’s victory.
