Touted as best smartphone launched this year, OnePlus 3 has started receiving OTA firmware update within less than a month of its launch. The company has addressed some minor issues with its existing OS coming out-of-the-box. It stated that after updating to OxygenOS 3.2.0, users will get benefit of improved GPS, better RAM management, the ability to enable sRGB mode for the display, and so on.

The update rolled out soon after its launch, makes us realise that the Chinese maker OnePlus 3 is committed to provide best experience to its users as it is the best smartphone from the company launched till date.

Though the new update for OnePlus has improved the RAM management of its flagship killer but when earlier a comparison video of OnePlus 3 and Samsung Galaxy S7 has raised questions on its RAM management the co-founder, Carl Pie said, “we have a different strategy for RAM management that benefits battery. We think this is the best user experience.”

The video suggested that despite having 6GB RAM the OnePlus 3 didn’t match the speed of the Galaxy S7 Edge in majority of tests, though S7 comes packed with 4GB of RAM.

Pie further explained that the RAM optimisation could be altered manually by using custom ROMs and for the same the company has released the kernel source code files of the OnePlus 3 at GitHub to developers, just a day after the official launch. This would enable the developers to customise the source and build their own custom ROM.

Moreover, the company has temporarily stopped the roll-out as users reported issues while upgrading to the firmware. OnePlus said that it has started working on the issues and trying to investigate problems. Also, it said that the users those who already updated thier handset with OxygenOS 3.2.0 they won’t have to panic as their smartphone sucessfully installed the firmware.

OnePlus announced that the roll out will be commenced as soon the issues will be resolved, however, a specefic time frame is not provided yet.
