According to the TeCake technical staff, the smartphone users could manually check for an update by simply visiting Settings > About Phone > System updates. It is recommended to the users that they should keep the battery charged more than 30 percent, before updating the device software.

OnePlus in a blog post said that the development of Oxygen OS was a challenging experience for the entire team. It also added that the company is trying to stick back to the basics, when everyone else is trying to stand out of the crowd by making highly customizable and feature pack custom ROMs.

“Developing OxygenOS has been an incredibly fun and challenging experience for all of us. In this environment where everyone is fighting to stand out with custom ROMs, we think it’s important to go back to basics. We place things like performance and battery life over gimmicks, and bloated features,” company said in a blog post.
