OnePlus 3T vs OnePlus 3: What’s the difference?

OnePlus has recently announced its OnePlus 3T smartphone, which is an upgrade over the OnePlus 3 handset, which is now discontinued in several regions, however, it is still available for sale in India. While, the Chinese manufacturer revealed that the OnePlus 3T will be available for purchase exclusively through Amazon India starting from December 14.

The OnePlus 3 smartphone comes only with 64GB internal storage at Rs. 27,999, whereas the OnePlus 3T allows its buyers to choose between the 64GB storage variant and an additional 128GB storage variant. The former is priced at Rs. 29,999 in India, while the latter comes with a price tag of Rs. 34,999.

By looking the specs and price, the customers who had brought the OnePlus 3 smartphone couple of months back, might want to throw their handset to purchase the newer smartphone. The company hasn’t changed the design and looks of the smartphone, however, it comes with upgraded specs and features.

Both of the handsets comes with the same 16-megapixel of image snapper, but the one with OnePlus 3T smartphone is shielded with a Sapphire glass (tough as durable diamond), which is being used in iPhones to protect their cameras. Besides, the handset comes with front camera upgrade as well, if sports a 16-megapixel of user-facing selfie shooter that is and upgrade over the 8-megapixel front camera of OnePlus 3.

The OnePlus 3T also comes with a larger battery to offer a greater power backup to your smartphone. The smartphone comes with a 3400mAh of battery. where the OnePlus 3 only offered a 3000mAh battery. The OnePlus 3T also comes featured with Dash Charge fast charging technology.

The smartphone is powered by a top end chipset, 2.35 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 processor (two cores clocked at 1.6GHz and two cores clocked at 2.35GHz), which comes bundled with 6GB of RAM. The Snapdragon 821 chipset is the unit which also powers in Google Pixel smartphone and Asus Zenfone 3 deluxe. The chipset comes with improved power consumption, enhanced overall user experience and supports new features. While, OnePlus 3 is powered by a 2.15 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 SoC, which is slightly lower than the Snapdragon 821.

The newer upgraded phone not only provided an option in storage, while it also offers a newer colour option to its users. Apart from the Graphite and Soft Gold colour options, the OnePlus 3T is also available in Gunmetal colour variant.

OnePlus has also announced that with the launch of OnePlus 3T smartphone in Indian smartphone market, it will recommence its assembling plant in the country for the 3T handset from the next month.
