Nokia grabs the 4G network deal from Airtel, Pays whopping $230 million

All most every leading telecom operators in India are trying their best to meet up with the extreme demand for 4G technology and Bharti Airtel is no exceptional. Being the largest telecom operator in India, Bharti Airtel has made a ton of stride towards presenting more progressed 4G technologies in the country and this time it is the Finnish Conglomerate Communications Nokia who has shaken its hand with Airtel to expand its 4G network in India.

Telecom Gear manufacturer Nokia has sacked USD 230-million 4G network deal from Bharti Airtel in nine telecom service region. With the newly signed pact, Nokia introduces its 4G network technologies availability across nine circles of Bharti Airtel including Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, Rest of Bengal, Odisha, Mumbai, Maharashtra, Kerala and UP East, the statement said. This new network system development will give the limit; scope and speed of the company that it needs to meet the successive wave of data command in India. Apart from these nine cities, the network expansion will also include some leading metropolitan cities like The Lucknow, Ahmedabad, Patna, and Siliguri.

While addressing the media, Sanjay Malik, the Head of India Market at Nokia said, the new deal is completely intended to boost up the 4G network availability of Airtel through the gears of Nokia, and it will develop the availability of high-speed data in nine leading regions of India. All nine circles that have been chosen to be facilitated with the 4G technology of Nokia fall under the area of Bharti Airtel.

On this matter, the spokesperson of Bharti Airtel said, “the company is glad to shake hand with Nokia and will be happy to carry on to leverage of Nokia’s leading radio access technology and provisions to spread out its capability of 4G network accessibility and coverage which will in other ways further amplify the superiority of service for subscribers. Though both Airtel and Nokia did not officially mention any particular value of the deal, but a reliable source says that Nokia has paid a whopping amount of $230 million to Bharti Airtel for carrying on this pact.

Alongside the employment and advancement of 4G technology, Nokia will also roll out the modernization of 2G legacy in six circles of India.
