It is expected that the search engine giant Google will announce something to be in sync with the Startup India and Digital India initiatives. As the country is considered as the developing era of startups and the firm is looking forward to focus the digital operations of small and medium business enterprises in the year 2017.
Sundar Pichai will meet Union IT Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad and some of Google’s topmost executives including Google India head Rajan Anandan in New Delhi on January 4 at 11:00 am to focus upon Small and Medium Businesses (SMBs). For the same, he has already announced cloud regions in the country, which will include data centers spread around the country.
As per the invite sent to various local media channels including Indian Express, “Small and Medium Businesses are the backbone of the Indian economy and are powering the next wave of the country’s growth. At Google, we are excited about partnering with businesses to help them unlock exponential growth through the power of digital. We invite you to join Google CEO Sundar Pichai, and other senior leaders from Google as they shine spotlight on how digital can be a game changer for Indian SMBs.”
It is assumed that Pichai will talk about Google’s Digital Unlocked platform – the online learning tool for small businesses and startups. It is a Google certified training course, in association with Indian School of Business, which encourage emerging businesses to go online.
Pichai will also visit IIT Kharagpur on January 7 at 10:30 am. The institute scheduled the event to offer an opportunity to students to chat with one of the most sought after alumnus- Google Inc. CEO Sundar Pichai.
Pichai has completed his graduation in B.Tech in Metallurgical Engineering from IIT Kharagpur and noted that this is the first time when he is visiting the campus after being appointed as Google’s CEO. His chat session with students called “Back on campus with Sundar” and he is one of the favorite recruiters among the students.
After pursuing B.Tech from IIT KGp he then went on to pursue an MS in Engineering and Materials Science from Stanford University and an MBA from the Wharton School.
ET reported that a Google spokesperson has confirmed the reporting team that Pichai will visit IIT KGP on January 5 to meet the dean, other professors, and students as part of the trip.
While, IIT KGP confirmed that the session with the students will take place at IIT Kharagpur’s Tagore Open Air Theatre. The institute also recalled that last year Pichai was the recipient of distinguished alumni award and as on its part it has invited students to come back to campus on time after the winter break to be able to listen to Google’s CEO.
