BSNL

While the private telecom players such as Reliance Jio and Bharti Airtel are constantly pushing themselves into gaining new customers for their services, BSNL has launched a new offer to promote the number of mobile data users in the country

In this new offer, BSNL would provide 1GB of free data for all BSNL subscribers who use a smartphone with a BSNL connection on it but are not availing any data packs on the same.

This move by the company is intended to enhance the number of internet users in the country as the internet penetration in India stands only at a meagre 28 to 30 percent as of 2017. Over the last decade, the number of smartphone users across the various segments of the population in both urban, as well as rural areas, has seen an unprecedented growth.

BSNL remains one of the most favoured networks in areas where other private telecom operators have limited reach. But the popularity had seen a massive slump with Jio entering the Indian Market last year when it offered to provide free calling, roaming and data services for about a year. As Jio monetizes its services starting from this March 31, BSNL has also launched a lot of packs that would keep the company from losing its competitive edge

As per the latest tariffs, BSNL would offer

  • Rs 156 revamped pack:

Validity: 28 days

Benefits: 7GB data

  • Rs 198 revamped pack:

Validity: 28 days

Benefits: existing data bundle+ 4GB as applicable in different telecom circles

  • Rs 291 revamped pack:

Validity:28 days

Benefits: 28 GB data with no daily FUP

  • Rs 339 pack:

Validity: 28 days

Benefits: free calling on-net, 25 mins of free calling to any other network daily, unlimited data usage with 2GB per day FUP

  • Rs 549 pack

Validity: 30 days

Benefits: 30 GB data with no daily FUP

The various revised packs offered by BSNL are data packs, and the 339 pack is the only one offering bundled services that include data and calling facilities to the customers. The free 1GB data which is being offered by BSNL is a pan-Indian offer i.e. it can be availed by anyone in any of the telecom circles.
