The consumer electronics giant, Sony has officially added its new product to the era of smart wearables in Indian market. Today, the company officially announced the launch of SmartWatch 3 and SmartBand Talk in India. Both of the wearable devices connect with the Lifelog app and are powered by Android Wear.
The company’s spokesperson told TeCake, ” By using the device, consumers will be able to get messages from their friends, appointment notifications, and weather updates at a glance.”
The SmartWatch 3 received a price tag of Rs. 19,990, which boasts a 1.6-inch 320×320 pixels TFT LCD Transflective display for visibility in bright light and 4 GB of internal storage that could be used to store music and listen through a Bluetooth headset.The smart watch charges via standard microUSB port, which could also be used to connect it to a PC. As far as the device sensors are concerned, it boasts a built-in microphone, an accelerometer, compass, gyro and GPS sensor technology that makes lifelogging more powerful and more accurate.
Moreover, its has stainless steel back and waterproof built, rated IP68. IP68 is rated as “dust tight” and protected against complete, continuous submersion in water. According to standards, IP (or “Ingress Protection”) ratings are defined in international standard EN 60529 (British BS EN 60529:1992, European IEC 60509:1989). They are used to determine levels of sealing effectiveness of electrical enclosures against intrusion from foreign bodies (tools, dirt, etc.) and moisture.
Meanwhile the younger sibling, SmartBand talk is priced at Rs 12,990 and boasts a 1.4 inch curved display, which monitors Lifelog activity, notifications, and time. It also features a microphone and speaker that provides a short call function.
For voice clarity, Sony has provided HD Voice support along with Sony’s integrated Voice Control technology that enables consumers to assign their sounds to life bookmarks and use voice to carry out various smartphone operations. Developers have also provided built-in accelerometer and altimeter sensors that will help in tracking physical activities.
The Japanese manufacturer said that to make the devices more convenient and faster to use they have provided connectivity options like Bluetooth and NFC.
