Samsung Galaxy S8 Edge LEAK

As Samsung’s launch event on 29th March is inching closer, gossips, teasers, leaks and rumours regarding the specifications and features of the Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus have been shaking the market as well as the consumers. While Samsung has been maintaining a tight-lip regarding the specs of its upcoming smartphones, as a result of all those rumours and leaks, we now have almost all features of S8 and S8+ on our tables. However, a recent leak has come up with a new report that may heighten the expectations of Samsung fans and marketers about the premium Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus.

Some earlier reports have claimed the Samsung Galaxy S8 to feature a 12 MP camera at its rear panel, but this time the South Korean Giant seems to have added DRAM to the camera, enabling it to deliver super high framerates. Earlier, the Sony Xperia XZ Premium which was introduced at MWC 2017 provides the same functionality because of the Sony’s IMX400 sensor. However, the fresh report suggested that Samsung will not use the same technology. But instead, the South Korean Giant has been using a new technology.

A few weeks back, Sony – the Japanese Multinational introduced a whole new camera system called ‘Motion Eye’ and the technology will be arriving with Sony’s upcoming Xperia XZs and XZ Premium smartphones. Sony’s ‘MotionEye’ camera is capable of recording video at 960fps. But as claimed by the new report, Galaxy S8’s 12MP rear camera will be able to record 1000fps video. The recently launched iPhone 7 can record slow motion video at 120fps (1080p) and 240 fps (720p), which means the Samsung’s upcoming phones will be capable of recording the low motion videos up to 8 times faster than the iPhone’s technology.

The new report also suggested that the front panel of Galaxy S8 will host an 8MP selfie camera which will ship with an auto-focus feature. However, the best thing about the front-facing camera of Galaxy S8 is that it will be accompanied by a 3.7MP Iris camera sensor that will enable users a one-touch biometric authentication. The Galaxy S8 is also expected to ship with facial recognition technology that will aid the phone to conduct a superfast and more precise biometric verification.

The phones will be coming with Samsung’s modified eight-point battery testing procedure for ensuring least chance of battery blasting. Moreover, a much narrower bezel, bigger and dual-curved display, accompanied by ultra-high-definition 4K resolution is expected to hit the market with S8 and S8 Plus. Similarly, depending on the regions, we can expect Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 or Exynos 9 processor to boast under the hood of Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus. Both models are gearing up to mark their commercial debut in New York and London on March 29, and fans of Samsung are in a state of finger-crossed regarding the specs of these upcoming high-end handsets.
