Microsoft has scheduled a press event on November 30. It is assumed by granting the previous records and reports that the Redmond giant is about to launch its flagship Windows 10 Mobile operated, Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL smartphones in India.
Earlier this month, Microsoft CEO Satya Nadela has revealed in its Future Conference, held in Mumbai that the company is planning to introduce its flagship handsets in India by December. In addition, a report published by Windows Central also suggests that Microsoft will be likely to announce the newly launched Windows 10 powered devices in India on November 30.
The website further stated that it is also expected that the company will also launch a Display Dock, which is a device used for connecting a large size monitor to the handset to switch from mobile mode to Windows 10-like desktop mode. However, the company didn’t utter a word in detail.
A tracking website Zauba has also reported back in October that Microsoft has shipped 500 dummy units of the Lumia 950, and 500 dummy units of the Lumia 950XL, to India. Dummy units are usually ones that are housed in retail stores to let consumers experience the device.
The Lumia 950, which is priced in US at $549 (~Rs. 35,800) is backed by a 1.8 GHz 64-bit Hexa-core Snapdragon 808 processor bundled with 3GB of RAM. It is featured with a 5.2-inch WQHD OLED display with 1440×2560 pixels of resolution.
Meanwhile, the Lumia 950XL differs from its sibling in size as it sports a larger 5.7-inch WQHD OLED display. And on processing front, the XL device boasts a more powerful 810 series of Qualcomm Snapdragon 64-bit quad-core chipset that is paired with 3GB of RAM. The handset is priced at $649(Rs. 42,200) in US.
Both of the handsets boasts 32GB inbuilt storage with a microSD memory card slot for expandability option up to 200GB. On photography front, the flagship Windows 10 devices comes with 20-megapixel of rear camera coupled with 5-megapixel of front-facing came. However, rear camera of Lumia 950 XL has an extra feature of triple LED flash. The handsets also feature Iris scanner (infrared) for Windows Hello, Qi wireless charging with a flip cover and USB Type-C.
