The HTC One M9 smartphone users have started reporting that they are getting Android 7.0 Nougat update. The company has announced on Tuesday that the unlocked variant of the phone has already started getting the updates, while, the carrier variants will be soon updated to the latest OS.
Previously, HTC announced that the HTC 10, HTC One M9, and HTC One A9 to get the update in the fourth quarter. The update will turn up through an OTA, and if not, users can also manually check for the update by going through the Settings menu.
Besides the HTC One M9, the One A9 smartphone will also get the Nougat update by the end of this month. The company revealed that the roll out will happen only once per user and several One M9 users will have to manually get the Android 7 in the Settings of their smartphones.
Android Nougat will enhance multiple systems of the Unlocked HTC One M9. With the new OS, the phone will be backed by an improved battery-saving mode alongside the options of upgraded notifications, tweaked Doze, multi-window, and in-line replies.
The new HTC M9 is packed with two front speakers, metal body with the brushed finish. The e-commerce website reveals that the device runs on Android 5.0 Lollipop (out-of-the-box) supported by a 2.0 GHz 64-bit, octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor coupled with a 3 GB of RAM. The 4G LTE smartphone is featured with a 5-inch super-LCD with 1920×1080 of resolution and a 20-megapixel of rear camera. However, the site claims that the device comes with a 4.0 ultra-pixel of front-facing camera.
As leak suggested earlier, the Nougat update has also rolled out for the HTC 10 smartphone, which was launched in August this year. The manufacturer announced that the Nougat update will be will be layered with HTC’s Sense UI skin. The update is still only limited to the unlocked phone users in the US and soon will be released for the carrier variant. While, the company didn’t utter a word regarding the global roll out.
