Google Pixel XL

Recently on October 4, Google launched its new Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL smartphones, which are the successors of already successful Pixel and Pixel XL. The Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL now come with lots of mind-blowing features that make the devices stand out from the crowd.

And along with the launch, the Google informed that the owners of the new handsets would have unlimited free cloud storage for original-quality photos and videos only through the end of 2020. This led to great confusion among the buyers of the last year’s Pixel and Pixel 2 smartphones because they were also promised to get unlimited free storage of original Quality photos and videos in Google Photos. So, in order to solve this uncertainty, Android Police reached out to Google for clarification.

When asked, Google said that all the Pixel and Pixel XL customers don’t need to worry about what happens to their photos and videos after a few years as the company would support this feature for them for life. So, it is a big relief for all the Pixel and Pixel XL owners. Actually, Google Photos is a cloud-storage service that lets users save photos and videos in two forms. First is the original image and second is the High-Quality image. Although users don’t need to pay for uploading high-quality content, Google charges some money for storing original quality photos and videos after a set limit of storage is crossed. But Google offers this storage of original quality images for free for the lifetime, with the current Pixel and Pixel XL phone.

But the recently launched Pixel 2 and Pixel 2XL phone will get this feature by the end of 2020. But Google informed that after 2020, although the users of all the Pixel phones will enjoy unlimited original quality photo storage for lifetime, still while uploading, the images will get converted into high-quality. Here readers should note that the high-quality images are slightly lower in quality than the original Quality. S, in this context, it can be concluded that the users of Pixel and Pixel XL will be benefitted more from this unlimited, lifetime original image storage feature provided by Google as, the recently launched Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL will get the feature by the end of 2020.
