CAT alias Caterpillar – the American Corporation has launched its most recent device ‘Cat S60’ with a revolutionary camera feature, which is said to be world’s first thermal camera. Today, in an official event, the American multinational wrapped up curtain from its innovative flagship with a high-flying price tag. With a premium line-up of features and world-class specifications, the phone will cost Rs. 64,999 for the Indian buyers.
The phone is marked as world’s first device to boast an integrated thermal camera that is capable of withstanding extreme temperatures from -25 degrees to 55 degrees Celsius. Moreover, it is also proven to hold out drops from up to 6 feet altitude. Initially, Caterpillar introduced the handset at MWC 2016 and from today itself, the device will be available in retails for sale in India. By paying Rs. 64,999, shoppers can buy the CAT S60 handset from the smartphone outlets of different brands across the country as well from Amazon India. However, for everyone, buying a phone with such a high price tag is not just feasible, right?
The most highlighted part of the phone is its integrated thermal camera. The camera is designed from FLIR which is an international leader in promoting high-end thermal imaging technology. CAT S60 is enriched with a multitude potential to prevent the possible thermal events. The thermal camera is capable of identifying heat loss around windows and doors, detecting overheating of electrical devices, short-circuit, and surveillance in complete darkness.
In addition to these qualities, the thermal camera is also capable of picking up the high temperature and calculating the heat of the surface from an approximate distance of up to 50 feet. The CAT S60 smartphone also has an IP68 waterproof rating certification and is capable of withstanding engagement in up to 5 meters of water for more than 1 hour.
Specification wise, the CAT S60 flaunts a 4.7′ HD display which is mated on 720 x 1280 pixels and protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 4. The screen is also compatible with the wet finger and wet glove. Under the hood, it is powered by the Snapdragon 617 octa-core processor, clubbed with Adreno 405 CPU. On the storage part, it boasts 3GB RAM and 32GB internal memory which is expandable up to 256GB via micro-SD card slot. As far software of the phone is concerned, it runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box.
In the power unit, the phone is backed by a massive 3,800mAh battery and also features Fast battery charging technology which enables the phone to cover 60% charge only in 30 minutes. The rear panel of the phone hosts a 13 MP camera, accompanied by features like autofocus, dual-LED (dual tone) flash and FLIR thermal camera (Lepton module). Similarly, on the front part, it has a 5MP camera for selfie and video calling.
