It has been ten years from now, when the evolution of smartphone had been started with the launch on first iPhone in 2007 by Apple’s former CEO Late Steve Jobs at MacWorld 2007 in San Francisco.
This new year, 2017 is a big year for Apple because it is about to mark the tenth anniversary of the revolutionary mobile industry. However, January 9, 2017 is even more special for Apple as it is the day Steve Jobs took the stage to unveil the first ever iPhone to the world. In celebration, the Cupertino giant has released a press release highlighting the journey of what it claims is the “gold standard” in the smartphone industry.
The company states that since the beginning, Apple Inc. has managed to sell over one billion units, and now CEO Tim Cook claims that the “best is yet to come.” The world’s biggest smartphone company has celebrated its 10th anniversary with its CEO Tim Cook. CEO Tim Cook says, more is yet to come!
Apple CEO Tim Cook that in last 10 years Apple has sold over one billion iPhones to the world but the best is yet to come. Cook also said that “iPhone is an essential part of our customers’ lives, and today more than ever it is redefining the way we communicate, entertain, work, and live. iPhone has set the standard for mobile computing in its first decade and we are just getting started. But the best is yet to come.”
Talking about the history the first iPhone was launched on this same day 10 years ago. But the first sale was initiated on June 29, 2007. It turned the smartphone revolution upside down. It was probably the first phone with a touchscreen of 3.5-inch. In its very first year, Apple managed to sell as many as 6.1 million units. The very next year Apple managed to sell as many as 1 million units in the first week of the iPhone 3G launch. With the launch of iPhone 3G, the company introduced 3G mobile network and GPS capabilities for the first time in the market. It was also the first time when Apple introduced the App Store and allowed third-party apps integration into it.
In an interview with Phillips Schiller, Senior Vice president, Apple, he said “It is amazing that from the very first iPhone through to today’s newest iPhone 7s, it has remained the gold standard by which all other smartphones are judged. For many of us, iPhone has become the most essential device in our lives and we love it.”
To celebrate the first decade anniversary, Apple has planned to launch its iPhone 8 soon in the market. It is expected that the launch will bring new edgy to Apple’s growth and popularity.
