Akshay Kumar’s Baby hit the theaters on Friday and has gained compliments from the critics already, which is indeed a hard thing to come by.
Baby’s story as is an action movie that is as simple as its title, although the same cannot be said about the plot line. The story begins with a man strapped to a chair and being beaten to death. The story encases the same old, same old terrorism and an anti-terrorism team that is hell bent to stop bad things from going down.
The film star cast includes Akshay Kumar, Danny Denzongpa, Rana Daggubati, Anupam Kher and Mikaal Zulfika.
Akshay Kumar is playing the role of an Indian spy whose sole mission is to catch a dreadful terrorist. The movie goes round and about the same thing. The protagonist with his special squad making a chase for the bad guys. They find bits and pieces of where they might find them and in the quest make some sacrifices.
For what worked for the film was the credible performance of Akshay Kumar, which saved the day. It’s been quite some time since we saw Akshay perform so well, and it reminded us the potential the actor holds when he is not joking around monkeys and dogs in films trying desperately to be comedies. The film did have some juicy twists and turns that made this movie a great pick of the day.
Now as to what not worked for the film was that it had just too much violence and blood lust. Every other scene had Akshay punching or jumping down building or some killing going around. Even though, the twists were there, they weren’t much of help since the outcome was pretty much visible.
As for our statement of predicament is concerned we’d say, go for it if you can handle violence with a tinge of sound patriotism effects.
