Soon after getting leaked online, renders and 360-degree video of Moto X 2017 surfaced on the Internet suggesting that the new design does not also have support for MotoMods accessories which can be ascertained by looking at the curvy designs at back and from the absence of pogo pins.
Images are factory CAD schematics and mimic the design very close to Motorola Moto Z. But unlike the previous, X version doesn’t seem to have any 2.5D glass.
In leaked images, the bottom of the phone flaunts the presence of microUSB port. Finger sensors too are present on the same surface next to microUSB. However, no signs of the stereo speaker and dual speakers can be found.
The body structure will be on a dimension of 150×73.8×8.4 mm with having a 5.2-inch shinning shrink touch screen as compared to 5.5 inches of earlier Moto Z series. This dimension also gives us a clue for having a bigger space for battery inside. Thickness will be around 9.5 mm with little bit additional curvature for camera bump which is far thicker than the earlier edition of Moto Z (5.2 mm) and Moto Z Force (7 mm).
The finger scanner is of pilled shape and the top edge hosts the slot for MicroSD card. The edges have been slightly chamfered and the spacious sides contain side bezels.
According to Android Authority, the compact and classic design of Moto X will be budget friendly and somehow will cost like other mid-budget smartphones like Moto Z series. Sources are also uncertain on the exact nomenclature that this phone will bear as Motorola and it’s recent parent company Lenovo have nothing spoke about it yet.
Lenovo has officially announced in June that the Moto X series is ‘alive and well’. Besides, recently leaked images showed that the company is preparing to launch its next Moto X smartphone in the market, next year.
