Aimed at enhancing the Windows environment in India, the Redmond giant Microsoft has launched its three mid-priced devices– Lumia 730, 830 and 930 in Indian smartphone market. The dual SIM phone Lumia 730 got a price tag of ₹ 15,299, whereas the Lumia 830 and 930 costs ₹ 28,799 and ₹ 38,649 respectively.
Both the mid-range phones – Lumia 730 and 830 will be available for sales on October 8 on the other end the high-end device in the series; Lumia 930 will be available from October 15.
Ajay Mehta, Managing Director of Nokia India, a subsidiary of Microsoft Mobile Oy, said in a statement,”Our focus is solely on expanding the Windows ecosystem. We have conducted many surveys, and we found that people who use Windows OS once, they want to stick to it. We have been consistently growing our user base in the country,”
In addition to it, the company would like to continue to offer products across price points to cater a large range of Indian customers. “The affordable segment has seen explosive growth and the mid price segment also continues to do well for us. We will have devices across price points; he said.
The Lumia 730 boasts a 6.7 MP rear-facing and 5 MP front- facing camera with a 2220 mAh of power backup. It is also featured with a 4.7” Super Sensitive Touch HD OLED display and 8 GB of internal storage. It is optimised for selfie feature, and on a single tap users can switch from voice to Skype video calls.
On the other hand, the Lumia 830 is the” thinnest” and “lightest” smartphone among the Lumia devices, yet. According to Microsoft, it is “the affordable flagship” of the Nokia Lumia family. The device has ten megapixel rear camera along with a 0.9 megapixel of front facing camera with a 2200 mAh battery. The phone has a 5-inch, 1280×720 pixels resolution display protected by Gorilla 3.0 glass and 16 GB of built-in storage.
In-the-box, Lumia 830 comes with the “Lumia Denim update” that introduces features such as Live Folders, Apps Corner and an updated Glance screen.
Nokia’s new flagship device, Lumia 930 boasts a 5-inch 1080p display and a 20 megapixel PureView camera with Zeiss optics and dual LED flash and a 1.2 megapixel front-facing camera. The smartphone is powered by a 2420 mAh battery and 32 gigabytes of internal storage.
All the three smartphones run on Windows 8.1 operating system, powered by a 1.2 GHz Snapdragon quad-core processor with 1 GB RAM in 730 and 830 and 2.2 GHz Snapdragon quad-core processor with 2 GB RAM in Lumia 930. However, the devices are expandable up to 128GB of storage; the company also offers 1 TB of cloud storage via Microsoft’s One Drive for six months, later on the offer period user will have to pay ₹ 100 per month for the service.
