After the worldwide launch of Lumia 535, earlier this month, Microsoft Corp. announced the device in India at a price tag of Rs. 9,199 on Wednesday, which was closely guessed by TeCake, in a previous article, “The price for this amazing smartphone is expected to be around 9000 INR (without taxes and subsidies) and is apparently going to launch before the end of this year.” This is the first Lumia smartphone without the Nokia brand name.
The smartphone is mechanized with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 clocked at the 1.2 GHz, coupled with 1 GB of RAM. The device comes with 8 GB of internal storage, expandable up to 128 GB by via MicroSD card.
Furthermore, the company has packed the phone with 1905 mAh BL-L4A battery, which can play music for almost 78 hours and can allow you to do Wi-Fi surfing for nearly 8.5 hours.
At the venue of announcement, Ajey Mehta, Managing Director of Microsoft Devices said, “The new products we are going to introduce next year will have their own USPs.” He further added,”Our role is to commercialize the Microsoft applications and services experiences to consumers and sustain the phones business.”
He concluded his statement, “ Microsoft will not launch Asha series or X series smartphones anymore. The company will now look at the designing of new feature phones for Indian consumers.”
However, he did not mention about the leaks that were found, claiming the production of Microsoft Lumia 940. According to these leaks, the device will run on Windows Phone 10, which is yet to be unveiled.
In addition to it, the smartphone runs on Windows Phone 8.1 and the company didn’t announce about the updates in the OS, but it may be assumed that an update to Windows Phone 10 will be provided, earlier next year.
