Microsoft Corp. is going to roll out Windows phone 10 for all Lumia smartphones. According to Satya Nadela, CEO of the company, Windows Phone 10 will be released in next year, and the company is going to unify all of its operating systems under a single banner. Laptops, tablets, hybrids and desktops will share the same source as that one for phones.
The company has not decided the name yet, most likely it will be called Windows Phone 10 as they tweeted from their Microsoft Lumia account, “We plan to upgrade all Windows Phone 8 devices to Windows 10 in future :)”. The account is not official for Microsoft news but is verified one.
Nadela further added, ” Microsoft wants to streamline the next version of Windows from three operating systems into one single converged operating system for screens of all sizes.”
Moreover, leaks were reported from the Lumia factory, claiming about the production of Microsoft Lumia 940. These leaks suggest that the smartphone will be the first to be featured with Gorilla Glass 4. Lumia 940 boasts a 5-inch 1080p display and a 2.7GHz quad-core Snapdragon 805 processor coupled with 3GB of RAM. The device will be the second in the list of Lumia phones without Nokia branding as the Redmond giant has launched its Microsoft Lumia 535 running on Windows 8.1.
Furthermore, this leak shows that the device is running on Windows Phone 10, which pretends that the device may not be initiated soon. However, no official information is provided for the device yet.
A tweet from an unofficial Lumia account and one from this notorious leaker suggest that the name for the next Windows Phone OS is apparently going to be the Windows Phone 10.
Recently, Nokia showed its willingness to revive its brand name in the mobile market. Rajeev Suri, CEO of the company, told its investors that Nokia is looking forward to increase the sales in its core network equipment and services business.
