After getting promised by Nokia to re-launch its iconic 3310 handset in the market and announcement of a 4G cheap handset from Reliance Jio, the top Indian mobile phone maker, Micromax will be coming up with its Bharat series handsets.

The upcoming feature phones from Micromax are touted to be Bharat One (X1i) and Bharat Two. Citing the rumours surfacing on the Internet, the Bharath One will launch in next month in India. It has also been stated that the Micromax Bharat One feature phone will support 4G VoLTE connectivity, targeting the Jio free calling seekers. It is expected that the company will launch the device with a price tag around Rs. 1,999.

The tech blog, Phone Radar reported that the Bharat One handset will feature an alphanumeric keypad. While in terms of design, the handset body looks familiar to the retro Nokia 3310, however, the display portion resembles with modern Nokia 3310, specified by an image attached in the post. The Bharat One also come with English and Hindi language support.

Besides the alpha-numeric keypad, the device comes featured with two calling retro buttons to answer and disconnect an ongoing call. While two soft buttons on either side and also placed at the front with a circular navigation button with a button for a torch in the middle.

The Bharat One and Bharat Two feature phone are also expected to sport a fingerprint sensor. It might also come with touch and type input method as earlier seen in Nokia C series phones, however, no official confirmation is available from Micromax.

As far speculations are concerned, the Micromax Bharat One feature phone is touted to boast 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage and will be coming with the support for digital wallets which will be offered by Tranerv and mVisa. These services will also be included to the featured phone so that every Indian citizen gets digitalised and can also get access to high data speeds.

Previously, Lava has thrown its ace on the desk by launching its Lava 4G Connect M1 in the same segment at Rs. 3,599. The company claims that its 4G Connect M1 is India’s first 4G VoLTE feature phone. The phone comes with a plain glossy black frame around the display. In addition, a Chinese maker Itel has also launched its featured phone in the market at Rs. 700 only.

It seems like apart from the high-end smartphone wars, the Nokia 3310 has ignited combat between the budget end feature phones. Where people are giving a significant response to upcoming Nokia phone the domestic manufacturers are trying to attract the consumers by offering Jio SIM support. If Micromax would launch the Bharat One smartphone at Rs. 1,999 it might beat the competitors at its price point.
