The Chinese gadget manufacturing company, Meizu, which has recently laid its footsteps in India with its M1 and M2 smartphones, has launched an stable v5.0 update to its own operating system Flyme OS, which is based on Android’s Lollipop flavour.
Meizu currently offers M2, M2 note and MX5 handsets in the market, out of which, MX5 is its latest offering, first one to taste of the new Flyme update. Initially, it has started as an MP3 player manufacturing company, later the firm has been rushed in manufacturing the smartphones.
Currently, the update to Flyme OS is only available in China and will soon reach to the rest of the users as the firm is rolling it out in batches. The users will have to be patient in order to get the best of it. The company has posted a detailed outlook about the update and changelog on its fan page.
After getting updated with new Flyme 22.214.171.124A, the MX5 smartphone users will get loads of more features including a split screen mode, floating notifications, flawless multi-tasking, and the automatic arrangement of folders, shake to recover which will clean and arrange the icons to the default order. It also allows the users to select the priority order of the notifications shown in the notification bar.
The lock screen has the improved music player layout, which displays the music running along with its information and the lyrics. The smart SMS service is also updated and it has added a new assistant for customer service by which one can online chat with the executive and clears their doubts. A suspended dial pad with all-new yellow pages is also added to this update.
The camera also has some great additions such as the feature to update reminders, floating screens to see videos, gif shooting, new time watermark switch and new voice camera switch along with better cache management. While, the gallery is updated with photo editor, map changes, filter options, zoom in, / zoom out option, etc.
There are several other minor changes in the game section, weather, calendar, mail, app store, etc. The update is primarily for the MX5 users, but it should reach the other phones soon. The Flyme OS 5,0 seems to be very utilitarian and smart one. Kudos to Meizu for that and it should be soon received and appreciated by all the users.
