Following the M3 Max, Meizu launched its next flagship in China, Meizu M5 is now available in the market with two memory variants – 2GB RAM/16GB and 3GB RAM/ 32GB. With higher storage of 3GB RAM/ 32GB, Meizu M5 costs CNY 899 (around Rs. 8,900), while the 2GB/16GB variant is priced at CNY 699 (roughly Rs. 6,900) for the Chinese market.
Being the successor of Meizu M3, M5 is enriched with a number of high-end features and specs like a fingerprint scanner, HD-display, and VoLTE support. Slated to go live in retail outlets from the first week of November, Meizu M5 has been available in 5 colours variants like Mint Green, Glacier White, Champagne Gold, Sapphire Blue, and Matte Black.
In concerns of designing, the Meizu M5 is designed with a polycarbonate body, and the volume and power buttons are elegantly placed at the right edge of the phone. The bottom of the phone houses a 3.5mm audio jack, speakers, and the charging port.
As far as the specifications of Meizu M5 concerned, the phone holds a 5.2-inch 2.5D curved glass HD screen mated on 720×1280 pixels display resolution with a pixel density of 282ppi. Powered by a MediaTek MT6750 octa-core processor together with Mali T860 GP, Meizu M5 packs two storage variants like 2GB RAM/16GB and 3GB RAM/ 32GB. Enhanced with a hybrid dual-SIM slot (Nano+Nano), this phone also facilitates storage expansion up to 128GB via micro-SD card slot.
On the software front, Meizu M5 is running on Yun OS 5.1 with Flyme OS 5.5 skin on top and is backed by a 3070mAh battery which is claimed to give 66 hours of music playback. In optic part, the phone packs a 13-megapixel rear snapper with dual-tone LED flash together with PDAF, f/2.2 aperture, and 5P Lens. In front part, the phone also has a 5-megapixel camera with f/2.0 aperture, 4P Lens for video chat and selfies.
Connectivity options of Meizu M5 include 4G VoLTE, GPS/ A-GPS support, WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n, and Bluetooth 4.0. Sensors segment of Meizu M5 hold infrared, accelerometer, ambient light sensor, proximity sensor, gyroscope, and a magnetometer.
Measuring 147.28×72.8x8mm, and weighing 138 grams, Meizu M5 also has an advanced fingerprint scanner which is placed at the bottom of the Home Button and is alleged to comprehend prints in less than 0.2 seconds.
