The Reliance subsidiary, Lyf has announced a new mid-range smartphone, Lyf Water 8 in India with a price tag of Rs. 10,999. The highlighting feature of the phone is VoLTE support. Reliance being the only network to launch LYF brand so as to accompany Jio’s network when available commercially. Available in black and white color variants, the handset has a 24-months extended warranty.
Although the gadget doesn’t stand against Lenovo Vibe K4 in terms of raw hardware but featuring VoLTE would help the users when Jio makes an entry into the Indian telecom industry.
To set a new standard of style it is elegantly crafted with a sophisticated dual glass finish with a sleek metallic frame. LYF Water 8 sports a 5-inch HD AMOLED display featuring a screen resolution of 1280×720 pixels and is processed by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 chip in conjunction with 3GB RAM. Backed by a 2600mAH battery unit it is installed with Android 5.1.1 Lollipop.
On the photography front, it boasts 13MP rear camera along with a LED flash while the selfie snapper is 5MP clubbed with a flash too. For bringing life to images, the company has further installed camera features like ChromaFlash and OptiZoom. With an expandable storage via microSD card LYF Water 8 has a 16GB onboard storage except it. Sported with 4G LTE along with VoLTE and dual-SIM it is measured as 7mm in terms of thickness.
