Locke and Key Season 2 – Release Date, Plot, and Cast

American horror-drama Locke and Key is returning for a second season. Based on a comic novel of the same name, it is the freshest comic novel series to be adopted by Netflix which is quite a feat if you ask us.

Produced by Meredith Averill, Aron Eli Coleite, and Carlton Cuse, the show follows three siblings as they move into a mysterious house following their father’s murder. The trio finds that the house had filled with magical keys that open various mysterious doors inside the house, and soon realize that a demonic entity is in search of said keys.

With season 1 being a fan favourite, everyone’s inquiring about season 2, and that’s exactly what we’re here for.

Locke & Key Season 2 Release Date

Netflix has confirmed season 2, but an exact release date has not yet been shared. Because season 1 came out just seven months ago and taking into account the delay in production due to the pandemic, our best guess is that season 2 will release sometime in mid-2021. As for the exact date of release, it isn’t possible to predict at this time.

Locke and Key Season 2 Trailer Updates

No trailer has released for season 2, expect one to drop a month or two before the actual release, whenever that may be.

Season 2 Plot

It was revealed in the season 1 finale that Dodge was indeed not dead, and ready to continue her hunt for the keys. The Omega key, which is safe for now, might be put in jeopardy again the next season.

Season 2 might also delve into the origin story of the keys. In the comics, a group of rebels comes across the Black Door in the middle of the War for Independence. The Door is a portal into another dimension from which demons are trying to escape but instead get turned into lumps of whispering metal which is in turn used to make the magical keys. It is said that the soldiers who touched the keys were possessed by these demons who were trying to escape their metallic prison.
