The Q2 2016 reports of Indian Smartphone market announced by IDC on Monday, according to which Lenovo, the Chinese conglomerate ranked at number two position of the rundown. If you consider the Q1 reports of Indian Smartphone market published by IDC, there is a huge change noticed and according to the new report from IDC, Lenovo has surpassed all most every leading Smartphone makers.
Regarding value, Lenovo placed at number two position in India by beating Apple, Micromax, and Oppo which held more than 9% market share in Q1 2016. In Q2, Lenovo combined with Motorola holds the market share of 9.074%.
With a significant hike of 24.5% over the last year, Lenovo acquired 7.7% of market share following the sold units while the growth of the market is reported to 3.7% only.
Apart from this, The Chinese Company also positioned at the third number regarding the shipment of Smartphones in Q2. In this quarter, Lenovo shipped with 7.7 percent market share is following Samsung and Micromax which hold the first two positions with 25.1% and 12.9% respectively. Following these three companies, Intex with 7.1% and Reliance Jio (Lyf brand of devices) with 6.8% share are ranked in 4th and 5th position for Q2.
According to Sudhin Mathur, Director-Smartphones, Lenovo India, “This is a huge milestone achieved by us, which has motivated and encouraged us further to go against all the odds by creating meaningful and innovative, technologically-advanced products that enhance the mobile consumer experience.”
In terms of market value, Lenovo is reported to outshine the American conglomerate Apple who holds 9.070, in Q2 which is 0.004 less than of Lenovo’s. The number one position on this list is acquired by Samsung which s reported to hold 25.1% market share in India. Following Samsung Micromax with 12.9%, Lenovo with 7.7%, Intex with 7.1% and JIO with 6.8% are ranked in top 5 lists of IDC.
