In past, Paes rushed to win the title in partnership with Mahesh Bhupathi and Janko Tipsarevic. His partner Klaasen has won this title five times, and four times he lost in ATP World Tour doubles finals.

Paes said after the loss, “They went for broke, and it really paid off for them today. It’s been a great tournament for us. I really love playing with Raven. The beauty of sport is that margin is so less. Just one or two shots.”
