KSBKB’s evergreen Baa played by Sudha Shivpuri, who was the source of guidance for all the actors of the serial finally gave in to old age and passed away in Mumbai on Wednesday. Sudha Shivpuri, our famous baa was 77 years old and was admitted to CritiCare Multispeciality Hospital and Research Centre in Andheri east for a couple of days.
“Sudha was in coma for last three days in Criticare hospital in Andheri. She passed away due to multiple organ failure resulting from an infection,” Sandeep Basu, a family friend told us.
She had been rumored to be suffering for quite some time from various ailments of old age which kept her off-screen. Baa was the wife of Om Shivpuri. Her last rites were performed around 3 p.m. at a crematorium in Oshiwara.
People who had known her or had worked with her, were grieving for the deceased soul and shared their condolences with us.
“I’ll always remember her as being a sweet Baa. I feel sad at her demise and my condolences for the family at the same time. I feel happy that the soul is now free from sorrow. My prayers for her soul and her family.” Ronit Roy aka Mihir said on the demise
Hiten Tejwani was also saddened by the news along with Ketki and other close ones.
She was a theatre enthusiast and has been a part of films like ‘Insaaf Ka Tarazu’, ‘Hamari Bahu Alka’ and ‘Pinjar’, and on the small screen her work includes shows like ‘Rajni’, ‘Kyunki…’, ‘Kasamh Se’, ‘Kis Desh Mein Hai Meraa Dil’ and ‘Maniben.com’
She has been an inspiration to all, has seen a lot of generations pass by her and taken a lot of age jokes in a sporty way is now no more among us. We would wish that may her soul rest in peace from the bottom of our hearts.
