The American technology giant, Kodak is all set to enter in the world of smartphone by launching its first device Ektra on December 9 in Germany, just before Christmas. The bizarre device made for camera lovers will come with a price tag of 499 euros. Kodak has its footprints in photography and keeping the same in mind they have manufactured a smartphone for camera lovers. Kodak Ektra boasts 21 MP fast-focus camera with PDAF, OIS, f/2.0 aperture and dual LED flash. In addition, the device sports decent 13 MP front camera with PDAF and an f/2.2 aperture.
The smartphone also features full manual mode to capture stunning photos and record videos. ‘Super 8 VCR’ video filter and scene selection hardware dial makes the device stand out of crowd when it comes to photography. On paper, the device looks good as far as specs are considered. However, specs don’t the whole story and we need to test it before we can say anything confidently about the camera.
While talking of specs, the device is powered by a deca-core Helio X20 chipset clocked at 2.3 GHz, 3 GB of RAM under the hood and comes with Android Marshmallow out the box. It has 32 GB ROM which is expandable via microSD card to keep your photos and a 5-inch FHD (441PPI) Corning Gorilla Glass display. The 3,000 mAH battery can deliver juice for an entire day. More importantly, the device has USB Type-C port and supports fast charging which has become a necessity these days.
