After targetting to deliver six million handsets during Diwali festive season, the largest growing telecom company Reliance Jio has started its second phase of delivering the JioPhones in the Indian smartphone market with a target of 10 million feature phones.
The company has started notifying the consumers who have earlier pre-booked the JioPhone by paying an advance amount of Rs. 500. These customers are notified by automated telephonic calls, push notifications from My Jio app and text SMS. Also, one of these messages included a special link to buy the phone. The link has a code which is required to show at the Jio outlet to receive the JioPhone. The last date for receiving the device has been tentative to November 30.
Customer needs to produce following things at Jio Outlet to buy a JioPhone:
- Aadhaar Card,
- JioPhone booking voucher code (from MyJio app),
- Code generated from the link received via SMS,
- 1,000 INR cash.
Earlier Diwali Jio has informed its fans via Twitter, “We will send you an SMS informing about the store address and pickup date as soon as it is ready for delivery. The delivery status of your JioPhone order will soon be available on 1800 890 8900.”
“Thanks for reaching out, We have started the delivery of JioPhone in a phased manner to avoid inconvenience to our customers, the tweet added.
Jio phones have created a stir in the smartphone market. This giant is giving the product and services like never before any company offered. Customers can buy the handset for just Rs. 1500 and get tons of features. Also, Reliance has rolled out a new refund policy for the Jio phone which will allow the user to return the handset before the specified period of three years and get an amount from the deposit.
Reliance Jio has given the cut-throat competition to all the competitors in the market. Many of them either got vanished from the market or merged to survive. Meanwhile, many companies suffered the decrease in profit and revenues. Reliance Jio provided the shocking and fantastic deals which sparked the tariff war in the telecom industry.
Booking of this 4G feature phone had started on 24 August and closed on 26 August after the massive demand. As the target, five million phones in a week but demand exceeded the target in merely two days.
More than 10 million consumers are waiting for place an order. Therefore, users can book the handset by paying Rs. 500 in advance. Meanwhile, the second booking period is expected to start in the next couple of weeks.
A close source to Mukesh Ambani stated that the company brought this product to increase the use of mobile phones and preventing the misuse at the same time.
