Finally, the day has arrived and Jio phone’s delivery has started. Delivery of around 6 million Jio phones has started on Sunday. According to the reports of channel partner of Reliance Jio Infocomm Ltd, the distribution will be completed within duration of 15 days. Customers from the rural areas will be the first who will get hands on the phone.
As reported, the chairman Mukesh Ambani had said that Jio phones will bridge the gap between urban and rural India. Consequently so, Jio phones will get delivered to small towns and rural areas from Sunday. This is what Reliance channel partner told to a media agency.
Jio phone’s pre-booking started on August 24 and get closed after the heavy demand, therefore, there’s been no update regarding the reopening of bookings so far. Some of the buyers have already started getting their Jio phones delivered.
On the report of CyberMedia Research (CMR), 61.8 million mobile phones were shipped in the second quarter of 2017 where feature phones were 54 percent which witnessed 9 percent consecutive growth. Meanwhile, The amount of 6 million is almost 10 percent of India’s total mobile market in terms of a quarter.
The fascinated buyers who booked the phones got an opportunity of a refundable deposit of Rs 500. Also, the remaining Rs. 1000 has to be paid on the delivery of phone. However, the whole amount of the phone will be refundable upon return of the same device after the time period of three years. Jio users just need to subscribe the Rs. 153 monthly plan for voice, data and other add-on services.
Way to track your order: All the users who have pre-booked the phone can track the delivery status by two modes- Online and Offline.
In the online mode, the user simply needs to download the MyJio app. After that, just open the app and go to ‘Track Order’ then fill order details to track the status. Whereas in offline mode, the user needs to call the customer care from the same number which used in registering the pre-order. Subsequently calling the customer care number (18008908900) follow the instructions and wait for the SMS update regarding the delivery date and store details.
