Compass, the latest SUV in the Indian market has received an overwhelming response. All thanks to its luxury styling, off-roading credentials, a much appealing price tag and above all the renowned Jeep badge to it.
So far the Jeep Compass has gathered 10,000 bookings and is expected to get a phenomenal liftoff in the market. An attractive price tag can be granted the credit of this hyped success with a starting price tag of Rs 14.95 lakh(ex-showroom Delhi). Along with these 10,000 bookings, the maker has also acknowledged 92,000 queries from the crowd interested in buying the SUV.
Along with the absurd response to the pricing, Compass is also being seen as an epitome of sophistication and capability. The SUV is offered in three variants namely- sports, longitude and limited with price bracket of Rs 14.95 lakhs – Rs 20.65 lakh (both prices ex-showroom Delhi).
With the booking spree of 10,000 units, Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (parent company of Jeep) is forced to speed up production of the SUV at its Ranajangaon plant.
Jeep compass is currently available in two engine options – petrol and diesel. The petrol powered SUV gets a 1.4 ltr engine, whereas the diesel variants are presented with a 2.0 ltr diesel engine.
Other than the car and its specs the Jeep has left no stone unturned in promoting the vehicle. With aggressive marketing strategies, the Compass has already set ablaze the major players in this price bracket such as the Creta, XUV 500 and the Hexa, As the manufacturers of these dominating cars are compelled to come up with advertisements that try pulling the Compass down. The most recent advertisement of Hexa comes with a punch line – “you don’t need a compass to go places, all you need is a Hexa”.
Jeep is all set to create a success story in the Indian market, which many of us did not expect when we first heard of its arrival in the already suffocated segment. However, attractive pricing and dedicated marketing have made the Compass a known name for all the SUV fanatics.
