ISIS strikes again, captures Ramadi killing hundreds

ISIS militant group has stricken yet again its vicious paws on another innocent city, Ramadi in Iraq and caused its usual death and destruction by killing hundreds of people. ISIS has captured the city, making 8000 and more of its residents to flee for their lives and killed 500 of the civilians to broadcast their claim on the city.

“If the Iraqi government officially asks the Islamic Republic of Iran … to carry out any step that helps Iraq to confront (them)… then the Islamic Republic of Iran will meet this call,” Ali Akbar Velayati, an adviser to Iran’s supreme leader said.

Iraq’s government and Iranian military has vowed to mount a counter-offensive attack and reclaim the city of Ramadi that is lost to the hostile terrorists. In the attempt for the same, Iran’s defense minister Gen. Hossein Dehghan flew to Baghdad on a surprise visit for urgent talks with Iraqi leaders to discuss measures and their further course of action.

“I am convinced that as the forces are redeployed, and as the days flow in the weeks ahead, that’s going to change, as overall (they) have been driven back … I am absolutely confident in the days ahead that will be reversed.” The US Defense Department commented on ISIS seizing the city of Ramadi in Iraq.

This won’t be ISIS’s first attempt at the claiming of any city as previously they had targeted to capture many other cities like Ramadi. But Tikrit had been one of those cities that had recently been freed from the clutches of ISIS and the same confidence is being shown by US officials for Ramadi.

ISIS has a history of violent seizures and assaults that has left the world scarred and people losing their loved ones. Extremist organizations like ISIS and Boko Haram needs to be stopped once and for all so that the world can again be a better and safe place to reside in.
