Intex launches budget phones Aqua HD 5.5 and Aqua Stong 5.1 VoLTE in India

Expanding the Aqua lineup of smartphones in a spree, Intex has launched its Aqua HD 5.5 smartphone in India at a price of Rs. 5,637 in Champagne and Blue colour variants. The handset is listed on the official website with price , features and specs. However, the availability details are yet to be disclosed.

As the name describes the Aqua HD 5.5 flaunts a 5.5-inch HD (720×1280 pixels) IPS display. On photography front, the smartphone is sports a 5-megapixel rear camera with dual-LED flash and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera with LED flash. The handset is fueled with a 2800 mAh of battery that the company claims to offer up to 8 hours of talk time.

The handset runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow supported by a 1.3GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6580w processor which is bundled with 1GB of RAM and Mali-400MP GPU. The Aqua HD 5.5 also boasts 8GB of internal storage that is expandable by a microSD card. It measures 154×77.2×10.5mm.

As far connectivity is concerned the smartphone comes with several standard options such as 3G connectivity, WLAN 802.11b/g/n, Bluetooth, GPS, A-GPS, FM Radio, 3.5mm audio jack, and USB.

With the launch of the handset, the company is trying to target teenagers who are using the smartphone for the first time, and hence it has provided entry-level specs to the phone with a budget price. Also, to attract buyers the Intex Aqua HD 5.5 smartphone comes with a tagline, “For The Young Guns”.

Apart from the Aqua HD 5.5 Intex has launched Aqua Strong 5.1 at a price of Rs. 4,999 in White, Blue, and Champagne colour options. It is a VoLTE enabled 4G smartphone which comes with Reliance Jio Preview Offer. Intex announced that it has exclusively joined hands with the telco to offer its customer free voice & data services and access to a host of Jio Premium apps under the Jio Preview Offer.

The Intex Aqua Strong 5.1 smartphone was launched last month with LTE technology at Rs. 5,599, but this time the company has introduced the revamped handset with VoLTE technology and Reliance Jio offer. Earlier this month, Intex technologies has launched its Intex Aqua S7 4G VoLTE device with a price tag of Rs. 9,499.

The handset comes pre-loaded with apps such as Matrabhasha, Online Software Update, Clean Master, Opera Mini, Opera Max, and Saavn. The smartphone maker is also featured the phone with Emergency Rescue and Turbo Download.

The Intex Aqua Storng 5.1 is fronted with a 5-inch IPS display with 854 x 480 pixels of resolution and Corning Gorilla Glass 2 protection, along with a 2-megapixel of user-facing camera with flash. While, it is backed with a 5-megapixel of primary image shooting tool featured with dual-LED flash and panorama mode which helps you click good pictures even in low light. Under the hood, the handset houses a 2800 mAh battery which lets you even watch movies and play games for hours, says company. It claims that the battery is rated to deliver up to 16 hours of talk time on 3G and 4G, and around 466 hours of standby tune.

Running on Android 6.0 Marshmallow, the device is powered by a 1GHz MediaTek MT6735 quad-core processor with ARM Mali-T720 MP1 GPU and 1GB of RAM. It also boasts 8GB of buit-in storage that could be expandable up to 32GB via a microSD card.

Connectivity options include 4G, Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Micro-USB port, and GPS/ A-GPS. The handset measures 141.2×72.3×9.47mm and weighs 150 grams.

The powerful quad-core processors enables multi-tasking in the smartest way possible with effortless swipe gestures and seamless navigation while smoothly rendering high-end games. Besides, users can also enjoy movies, and online streaming on the handsets swiftly. Intex Technologies is looking forward to a great response from their consumers, Bansal says.
