Indira Gandhi National Open University offers admission in upcoming sessions

Indira Gandhi National Open University is one of the world’s largest universities with approximately 30 lac students enrolled for the different distance learning courses. IGNOU offers 232 academic programs in 67 regional centers spread out across the country. Based on the category of the academic programs offered by IGNOU, the admission process varies.

The university offers admission in January and July sessions. Once the Ignou admission notifications are out, the students can apply for the various academic programs in the university. During the admissions sessions, the candidates will be able to fill in the online admission forms through the official website of IGNOU. Steps to Apply for the Ignou Admission

Step 1:

The first step involves the opening of the official website of IGNOU. To apply for admission, the students first have to open the website: https://onlineadmission.ignou.ac.in.

Step 2:

The second step involves the registration of the students on the website. After opening the website, the students need to register themselves by following the simple process. After successful registration of the applicants, the applicants have a login to the admission portal using the Username and Password provided to them during the registration process.

Step 3:

After logging in to the portal, the students will have to apply for admission in the academic programs of their choice.

Step 4:

After filling up the online application form for admission, the applicants need to make the fee payment of the chosen program through the online mode only. The university will not accept the admission fee made through the offline mode. The admission fee can be paid online through Debit Card, Credit Card, and Net Banking. The university reserves the right to introduce more payment options to its online payment system for admission in the future.

Admission through the Regional Centre of IGNOU

For certain programs of IGNOU, the online application is not available. For such programs, the candidates have to apply for admission through the offline mode. After filling the form, the applicants need to submit the filled registration form only at the Regional Centres.

The first step involves the students to visit their nearby Regional Centre and get a hard copy of the Ignou Prospectus by making a payment of Rs. 200/- in the form of cash. The prospectus is the guide that contains all the essential information related to the programs that the candidates need to know before admission.

If you are willing to apply for any program at IGNOU, you can simply cut the admission form from the prospectus. The application form can also be downloaded from the official website of IGNOU. The candidates have to pay the admission fee of the chosen program along with the admission form. The payment is to be done in the form of Demand Draft only in favor of Ignou payable at the City to which the Regional Centre of the candidate belongs.
