Premiering on Showtime, the award-winning show, Homeland has a total of 8 seasons at present. Based on the Israeli series Prisoners of War by Gideon Raff, this American spy thriller television series has been developed by Howard Gordon, and Alex Gansa and the franchise has 96 episodes at present. Produced by Fox 21 Television Studios, the series follows the life of Carrie Mathison who is a CIA officer suffering from bipolar disorder. Nicholas Brody is a U.S. Marine Corps Scout Sniper and Carrie Mathison believes that he poses a threat to the US as he was held captive by al-Qaeda as a prisoner of war and this has changed his mind and turned him into an enemy. Homeland will not be renewed for a ninth season, and the production has been winded up with the eighth season that was released in April this year. Hence Showtime’s psychological spy thriller series Homeland has officially ended.
