A relative risk evaluation has determined an association between diabetes, body mass index, and a grown risk in various forms of cancer. “An expanding waistline can be associated with diabetes and tumors in gallbladder, liver, and pancreas. Obesity is induced due to the overload of fat tissue that produces excess amounts of estrogen. A high level of estrogen is connected with grown risks of breast, ovarian, endometrial and some other cancers,” stated Dr. R Janani, an oncologist.
Researchers suggest that with a surge in incidents of diabetes and obesity, the part of due to these conditions will increase by 30 percent in women and 20 percent in men in less than 20 years. “Obesity can lead to rising in the blood levels of insulin, which can promote the growth of colon, kidney, prostate and endometrial cancer. Fat cells can induce cell growth regulators directly or indirectly, either inhibiting or arousing cell growth in the body which can lead to cancers,” added senior oncologist Dr. Anitha Ramesh.
