Has Black Widow been postponed again? Check out the updates, plot and much more!

Black Widow is yet another American superhero movie which is based on the character of Black Widow from the Marvel Comics. The movie is produced by marvel studios and distributed under Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures.

The story of Black Widow is set after the events of Captain America: Civil War, released in 2016. It revolves around Natasha Romanoff, who is an Avenger, an assassin and a former agent of S.H.I.E.L.D. After the Civil War of 2016, Natasha ends up lonely. She finds herself forced to face her past while solving a dangerous conspiracy. In this movie, Romanoff will be seen dealing with her history as a spy. Also, Natasha will cope with the broken relationships that she left behind before becoming an Avenger.

Black Widow also introduces Natasha’s sister Yelena Belova. She is also trained in the Black Room to become an assassin. Certainly, Natasha will pass on the role of Black Widow to Yelena.

In an interview with Total Film, Pugh said, “This film is about the abuse of women. It’s about how they get involuntary hysterectomies by the age of eight. It is about girls who are stolen from around the world. It’s so painful, and it’s so important.” She added, “For a Marvel film to be reaching all of those levels, it is so exciting…  You’ll see these women strive and be strong, and they’re assassins – and yet they still need to discuss how they were abused. It’s an incredibly powerful piece.”

Release Date on Black Widow

Black Widow has been announced to release on 6 November 2020 on IMAX. The movie was initially scheduled to drop in May 2020. But due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the movie was postponed. However, there are rumours about Black Widow’s further delay and people are hoping it’s not true. Apparently, Variety and Deadline reported that Disney is re-considering the release dates. The further delay could be because of the poor performance of Disney’s ‘Mulan’ and ‘Tenet’ in the box office. But there is no official announcement yet.

It is kind of interesting the Black Widow started to be removed from the theatrical release schedule on many Disney websites right around the same time as this Yahoo! Finance report that said Mulan made at least $261M on Disney+ https://t.co/ohD3ETc5pi

Cast of Black Widow

Black Widow has appeared in various Avenger movies. It has been played by Scarlett Johansson. However, the role is now handed over to Florence Pugh, who plays Yelena Belova. Yelena is Natasha’s sister, who will carry on the duty of Black Widow.

Black Widow will be Florence’s debut in the Marvel Franchise. Scarlett also praised Florence saying, “She stands completely on her own. She’s strong and different. She’s so different from Natasha. You also see the generational difference, too, in how they react to things, and what they’re careful about, or what they’re careless about.” She also believes that Florence Pugh is capable to succeed her as Black Widow and take the franchise forward.

In addition, the other cast members are:

David Harbour as Alexei Shostakov / Red Guardian
O-T Fagbenle as Rick Mason
William Hurt as Thaddeus Ross
Ray Winstone as Dreykov:
Rachel Weisz as Melina Vostokoff / Black Widow
