“There is a woman behind every successful man” a popular English saying indicates a woman’s importance in a man’s life, however, the Mohit Suri’s melodrama ‘Hamari Adhuri Kahani’ starring Emraan Hashmi and Vidya Balan shows “a woman also need a man” in her life. The person who will understand her and most important love her and respects her.
Hamari Adhuri Kahani, released this Friday is a story of a brutalize housewife Vasudha (Vidya Balan) who dies every day in hands of her abusive husband Hari (Rajkummar Rao) but an angel comes in her life in form of a man Aarav (Emraan Hashmi) who saves her life.
Hamari Adhuri Kahani depicts lives of two people; both of them are alone in their lives and in search of true love. Later, they becme compassionates each other. Vidya Balan and Emraan Hashmi has earlier worked in critically and commercially acclaimed film Dirty Picture. Meanwhile, the popular onscreen couple is hoping to repeat the same accomplishment this time too.
In the meantime, the heroine of the movie, Vidya completely smitten by Mohit’s direction, even she said Mohit’s cinema is similar to a kind of cinema which was made by legendary director Mahesh Bhatt.
Commenting on the compliment, the young director said, “It is best compliment ever! Actually, it’s quite true. Bhatt saab came to me like a newcomer and asked me, ‘Can I write a film for you?’ Of course, I said yes. I had Mahesh Bhatt writing for my film, what else do can I ask for? I think the kind of films that Bhatt saab made has now found a new following with multiplex culture. I am just trying to take that forward.”
Mohit further elaborated, “Hamari Adhuri Kahani is not an issue-based film and the focus is not domestic violence. This is a hard-core love story and it is just close to reality.”
The songs and music of the film are well received by the people and one of them is also a musical hit of the year, like Mohit’s previous films including Aashiqui 2, Ek Villain, Kalyug and Murder2.
